Last Stop

The last stop on Saturday was at Brad's grandparents house.  His aunt Sharon was up from FL for a quick visit and she had not gotten to meet Paige yet.  We enjoyed the afternoon visiting and hanging out.  Brad's other aunt, Brenda, came over as well, along with his cousin Leah, Lindsey and Lindsey's 2 boys.

After a full day, we enjoyed grilling out with Nana and Papa Joe and Paige enjoyed pears for the first time.

Yay for a fun, full Saturday!!!

Passing on Through

Our next stop on our Saturday adventure was at the Old Greenbrier for lunch.  I could eat there several times a week and just get hushpuppies with BBQ sauce - yum!!!  Momma and Bill were passing through with Wheeler on their way for vacation and Elizabeth and Everett came along too so we could have a fun family lunch.

Lunch was wonderful, but the visit was too short!!  We need more family time!

Stealing kisses from Papaw

Wheeler is a sweet big brother to Everett and a sweet cousin to Paige

Cousins!! (Everett, Wheeler and Paige)

Yes, he is almost as tall as me!

All tuckered out. (Please note the hanging bag of water to keep the flys away.  You know you are at a great place to eat when they have that! [well, maybe])

Breakfast at the Blount's

Friday we loaded up the car and headed north for a quick weekend in Huntsville.  My mom, Bill and Wheeler were passing through on their way to Gatlinburg and Brad's aunt was visiting from FL so we thought it would be fun to see both.  Before that though, we got to have breakfast with the Blount's!  When we go to Huntsville try to see a couple of friends each visit.  Between our 2 schedules the best time for us to get together was breakfast time on Saturday morning.

It is always a treat when we get to see Billy and Rebecca.  They are the type of friends that you can not talk to for awhile and pick up right where you left off, not missing a beat.  Katie Lane was so sweet to share her toys with Paige.  I think the 2 girls are going to be great friends!

The sweet family

The mommas with the babies

The daddies with the babies

Fun fact - Katie Lane and Paige are just about the same size and Katie Lane is almost 1 (while Paige is almost 6 months).  Paige is probably a little big for her age and Katie Lane is a little small (she was born early and only weighed just over 4 lbs).

Sittin' in the Bumbo

I don't really have too much to say, but I feel like the blog is a way to record things I want to remember.  Paige and her bumbo is one of them.  The girl loves sitting her and she is slowly starting to grow out of it.  Sad day!  It is great because we can leave her to play while we do things around the kitchen and know that she isn't going anywhere.

Sorry, this post was more for me - more for me to remember how my sweet little baby girl is growing up!  And, to remember how much she enjoyed sitting in this seat.

Monday, Monday

I really think Monday is my least favorite day of the week.  No matter how hard I try Sunday night to be prepared for Monday morning something just seems to not go my way on Monday mornings.  This Monday did not let me down.  As I was walking in the parking garage, late (we won't say how many mintues), I realized I left my ID badge in Paige's diaper bag.  This means I could not sign on to my computer - what can you do when you can't sign on to your computer?? (clean your desk OR better yet, talk with your neighbor and drink coffee - I did get a little work done.)  Luckily, Brad works pretty close to me so I met him and he got me my ID.

The rest of the day was not too bad.  I had a funny thing happen to me at lunch but Brad told me it was not a "blog-worthy" story.  But, just so you know, it had to do with a waitress, my dress, and a napkin.  You probably had to be there to think it was funny...

I will leave you with some cute pictures of my sweet baby...

The newest toy, a chip bag (I have now dumped the old chips out and have saved the bag for Paige to play with).

"Super Baby!"

Short and Sweet

This post isn't going to be that short, but the weekend sure was!

I am amazed at how quickly our weekends go by; they just aren't long enough!  This weekend was no different.  I am also amazed at how I bring my camera and end up not taking any pictures.  That is not good!  I want to do better so we can really capture the memories.

Anyway, Friday before we got our evening started Paige tried carrots for the first time.  She took a liking to them like she did with the sweet potatos.  Peas are next on the list.  Dinner was at our new favorite Mexican restaurant.  It is at the mall - I think that is why I like it so much.  After eating we shopped a little (You can't beat the sale Ann Taylor Loft was having.  I got a pair of dressy capris for $15!)  Then we met Matt, Jamie, Ella and Myles for ice cream.  So, we had Mexican, shopping and ice cream all in one night.  I love it!

Saturday we ventured out to Cracker Barrel for breakfast and then I headed to work for a few hours.  I stayed just long enough to get a little work done but came home in time to still enjoy the day.  Paige and I hung out while Brad worked in the yard.  He has been working really hard to make the entire yard look better.  Phase I includes adding a stone boarder to our flower beds in the front yard.  It is looking really good!  We cooled off by swimming together.  We all swam and relaxed together.

For dinner we headed to Bimini Bob's.  We got to sit outside again.  This was the view from our table.  You can't really tell, but in the background there is the Mobile skyline.   This view is what I love - I love looking over the bay knowing that work is on one side and home is on the other.  It kind of reminds me of living in Hampton Cove, having to cross the mountain and what not.

Paige was an angel as usual at dinner.  Funny story - during dinner we heard some excited screaming coming 2 tables over.  Turns out one of the girls is pregnant and she was telling her friends for the first time.  It brought back great memories of how we got to tell our friends and family that we were pregnant with Paige.  It was also neat to think back to how I was feeling when I was just a few weeks pregnant with Paige; so exciting!

Sunday we headed to church and Paige did great in the nursery again.  The ladies working there had nothing but nice things to say.  I think there were more workers than kids there this Sunday.  I love knowing that she is getting attention while we are able to give our full attention in the service.  On a different note, I want to say how much I enjoy our pastor.  He speaks the truth, he speaks God's word.  Each week Brad and I leave wanting to dive deeper into our relationships with God and with each other.  Some of the latest topics have been sin (isn't it always a topic?  Our pastor talked about specific sin that really hit home for me) and money (he has been doing quite a few money topics, or so it seems, but the last one really hit home with me...why do I save money?).  Anyway, enough deep thoughts, we will save those for another day.

(yes, I realize the bow is as big as her head)

The rest of the day was spent with Jamie, Matt, Ella and Myles down at the river.  It was too rainy/overcast for us to go out on the boat but we had a good time hanging out on the dock, spending great time together. [Here is where I wish I had taken pictures...had the camera but didn't get any pictures]

Now on to the rest of the week...

Fins to the Left, Fins to the Right

Jimmy Buffett had a concert in Gulf Shores Sunday night for the oil spill on the Gulf Coast.  We couldn't get tickets so we thought it would be fun to take Paige's 5 month pictures in her pink fish dress, in honor of Jimmy Buffett.  So, for all you Parrotheads, here is a behind the scenes look at Paige's photo shoot.  It takes a lot of work to look this cute!

We start out pretty good.

Then we start to look around.  (Fins to the left?)

We also start to think that our feet are a little more interesting than looking at the camera.

Playing with our dress is more fun too. (One of the games she likes to play is peek-a-boo with her dress.  She will lift it over her head and then bring it on down.  I have told her she doesn't need to lift her dress like that, it is not very lady-like, but she hasn't stopped yet.)

Then we see something we want and decide we need to get it. (This is also Paige's version of sitting up on her own right now, somewhat in the tripod position.)

"Haha, Momma is funny!"

Kick, Kick, Kick!!

"Daddy, are you here to save me from all of these pictures?"

Maybe we'll catch Jimmy sometime at Lulu's....

A Different Story

Well, last night Paige tried green beans.  She was not a fan at all!!  Maybe this is how babies normally react to food for the first time?  Oh well, we will try them again tonight.

Poor thing!!

Still not liking them.

Happy we are done.

Sweet Potatos

Paige tried her first real food Sunday night.  She seemed to really enjoy it and kept wanting more.

Before she even took her first bite she was wanting to help.  This is how she was the rest of the time, reaching out wanting more.

Her first bite

She wasn't really sure what to make of the first bite. (Please excuse our dinner in the background.  Brad grilled us so yummy fish - one of my favorites!)

"More please!"

"Mom, what are you doing with those leftovers?  I really would like to finish those now."

Life with 3 Kids

We got a small glimpse of what life would be like with 3 kids Saturday night!  I am not sure that we want 3 kids but we still had fun with these 3.  Myles and Ella came over for a little bit while their parents enjoyed an evening out celebrating Matt's dad's birthday.

All 3 kids were so good!!  We ate pizza, watched cartoons, and just hung out.  While Brad spent some guy time playing with Myles, the girls made cookies.  Ella was a great help with the bake and break cookies and we enjoyed watching them bake and picking out which one Ella was going to eat.  While "making" them we snuck in a little cookie dough - a girl after my own heart!  I wish I had taken more pictures but there just wasn't time, we were too busy enjoying each moment.  Plus, the adventure Matt had planned for his parents got cancelled because of the rain.

I have been wanting to get a picture of me, Ella and Paige because anytime Ella and I have our picture taken, people think she is mine.  Now, I actually I have a child of my own.  Does Ella still look like she belongs to me?  Does she look more like me than Paige?  From looking at this picture, I am not sure either child belong to me.

Other highlights of the weekend include an afternoon party at one of my co-worker's house in way West Mobile (like I got off at Exit 4, that means she is 4 miles from the Mississippi boarder).  Paige also stayed in the nursery at church for the first time.  Brad and I both agreed it was time for her to do this after the last time when Brad missed almost the entire service because Miss P did not want to sit still.   We kept waiting for her name to appear on the bottom of the screen (The parents of Paige Wright are needed in the nursery), but they never did and she did great!  Sunday afternoon was filled with running errands.  She was an angel through all 3 stops and even did great with our 10 min. pit stop at home.  I think I have me a new shopping buddy!

5 months!

Paige, you are 5 months old!

This month has flown by and I might say that this has been the quickest one yet.  I guess the old saying about time flying when you're having fun is true!

We are slowly developing a routine at night.  We normally come home, play and/or eat.  Then around 7 you start to get tired and fall asleep.  This normally lasts around an hour or so and you wakes up.  We get you ready for bed, feed you your last bottle and you are out until the next morning (which is between 6:30 and 7).  If we are out or around others you stay awake longer and just want to be apart of the group; you are so easy going like that!

You rolled from back to tummy for the first time this month.  You also love scooting around on your back.  In fact, just this past weekend we watched you make a complete circle around in your little floor gym.  A game you like to play is "take the paci out and try to get it back in".  Everything now belongs in your mouth and you are starting to grab at everything (the remote, Momma's coke, hair earrings, Daddy's nose, cheek, chin), you name it, you want it.  You have also started petting Ellie and Madi.  They are both so sweet to let you do it and you are very sweet to them.

You eat between 35 and 40 oz a day.  I would say that you have somewhat slown down over the past month but you still love to eat.  You typically eat 4 8 oz bottles and finish the day with a 6 oz formula bottle.  This all really just depends on the day and we let you do whatever you want.  You enjoy eating your rice cereal and would feed yourself if you could.

You love water - bath time is still fun and you have enjoyed the pool (but who doesn't!).  Your hair has taken off growing this month.  It may not look like it in the pictures but it really has.  We can't decide what color it is going to be.  It can look light brown, dark brown, or red depending on the light.  I am starting to think you are going to have curly/wavy hair.  I noticed a little piece was starting to curl last night.  Poor thing if you have hair like mine, maybe you will have the curl without the frizz.  I still can't figure out your eye color.  Everyone tells me, "what pretty blue eyes," but I don't think they are blue.  Someone told me yesterday they looked green, so maybe they are green.

According to the Wii, because it is so official you know, you weigh just under 16 lbs.  Still growing great!

One more month until you are half a year old!

Baby Burrito

Not much going on in the Wright household this week but I wanted to share these 2 pictures.

Here is Paige all snuggled up on her first night at home.  She slept swaddled like a baby burrito for the longest time and in just the past few weeks she was promoted.  Now she is free...

Most mornings we find her turned around in her crib all sprawled out.

I think it is too cute and just had to share!
