White Christmas

In true LeeAnn fashion I am behind in blogging.  I haven't really been away from a computer but just away spending time with family.  Our Christmas "break" started in Huntsville (I consider this a "break" because Brad gets off 2 weeks just because, no vacation taken.  It is like he is in school or something, hehe).  I always enjoy our trips to Huntsville and this one was no different.  We got up early Thursday morning, and boy do I mean early - we were in the car by 6 am.  Paige was the best rider.  I sat in the back with her and Ellie, while Madi enjoyed being the navigator up front.

When we go to Huntsville we try to squeeze in a couple of visits with friends.  This year we did ok, not as great in years past, but pretty good for not being there that long and with it being the holiday season.  Thursday we got to visit with Billy, Rebecca, and Katie Lane.  Paige and Katie Lane had the best time playing with each other and Brad and I enjoyed visiting with Billy and Rebecca.  We could have stayed there for hours just catching up!

Dustin and Heather were kind enough to have us over for dinner that night.  They just bought a new gorgous house.  Heather fixed us a wonderful meal and Paige loved watching Skyler play.  He was so good with her!

Actual Christmas Eve and Christmas Day were a little different for us this year.  Normally Christmas Eve we go to church and then go to Brad's grandparents for dinner.  We all had been fighting colds so we did not get to go to Brad's grandparents.  With this change, we were able to meet my mom and Bill at Cove Methodist (another change for us because we normally go to Willowbrook Baptist, but didn't since their service was outside and we didn't know what the weather would be like).

Christmas morning we woke up to the surprise of snow!!!  What magical first year for Paige.  First, it snows in Fairhope, AL the day after she is born.  Then Auburn goes undefeated during the regular season.  And then her first Christmas is a white Christmas!

Christmas morning we had breakfast with the Wright's with the yummiest breakfast!  I love Christmas morning breakfast at the Wright's.  You can't beat the sausage casserole and apple dumplings (there were lots of other yummy things, these are just my favorites).

In years past, we would pack up and head to Iuka for the afternoon to have Christmas with my mom, Bill and the rest of the Brewster crew, but this year we opted to stay at the Wright's because of the snow/ice.  We were so sad because we didn't get to see everybody!!  We started going and go to downtown Huntsville and realized that the slush there would probably turn to ice just about the time we would be driving through.  So, we turned around and came back.  It is amazing how having a child changes your opinion of things!

After a few minutes of playing, we all konked out for a nap!!
